Chaney, Miss LHS

Hey Everybody, tonight we photographed the Miss LHS Pageant “Belles &
Boots” at Lakeside High School. It was a wonderful night full of beauty,
glamour, and sparkles. All of the contestants looked beautiful in their
gorgeous gowns and cowgirl boots. The girls competed in the areas of interview,
interview t-shirt design, casual wear, and formal wear. Every contestant made
sure to put their best foot forward on stage and make sure the judges noticed
that something special about them. The MC for the night was Mr. Craig
Middleton, a Math teacher at Lakeside High School. He kept the audience
entertained with his witty jokes and impromptu singing. Along with the fabulous
Master of Ceremonies, there were other forms of entertainment for the night.
Mr. William McDaniel played guitar and Miss Kendyl Pennington sang a few
country songs, which fit the theme of the night. Miss Kendyl Pennington
was crowned Miss LHS 2012 and Miss Altruistic 2012 for Lakeside High School
last year.

Although this night was a fun-filled affair, it was also for a good cause. Each
contestant raised money for Relay for Life and Wounded Warriors Project prior
to the pageant. These girls fundraised in school and around their community to
raise a grand total of over $10,000! Second runner up was Miss Aubrie McIntyre,
First runner up was Miss Olivia Landrum, and Miss Altruistic for Lakeside High
School 2013 was Miss Shannon McCarty. The money all of the contestants raised
goes to wonderful causes and will be put to good use. These Miss Altruistic
crowns were presented by Mrs. Karen Chase, teacher sponsor of the Lakeside
Chapter of Relay for Life, and also Wounded Warriors Project representative.

Every contestant had a night filled with anticipation and nerves, but the senior
contestants had a little bit more to worry about than the other
girls. Each senior contestant had to answer an onstage question after the
Evening Gown competition. The senior contestants were Miss Minna Hassan, Miss
Amanda Ebron, Miss Kristie Reville, Miss Megan Wren, Miss Grace Ho, Miss Chaney
Schumacher, Miss Shannon McCarty, Miss Joy Hong, and Miss Isabella Lliso. Every
senior contestant handled their onstage question with grace and poise.

All of the contestants did wonderful and showcased themselves beautifully! However,
at the end of the night, winners had to be chosen. The crowned winners of the
night were Miss Lakeside Freshman 2013, Miss Karson Pennington; Miss Lakeside
Sophomore, Miss Olivia Landrum; Miss Lakeside Junior, Miss Ellington Jones; and
Miss Lakeside High School 2013, Chaney Schumacher. Chaney won a $1,000 scholarship to the college of her choice next year.  Runner ups for Miss Lakeside were Second Runner up, Miss Minna Hassan, winning $200; and First Runner up, Miss Grace Ho, winning $300. Thank you to Mrs. Cyndi Blair for planning and coordinating the pageant for these girls to be able to participate!

It was a big night for Sally Kolar Photography, as Karson Pennington and her sister
Kendyl are two of my favorite customers and Chaney Schumacher is my employee. I
am so very proud of these girls for doing their best and winning the honor of representing
their school! Congratulations to all of the contestants and winners! I am sure
