I take great pride in the fact that I attend professional photography conventions. A few years ago, as I was walking up and down the aisles of a PPW (Professional Photographers of Washington) convention admiring the print exhibition, I stopped dead in my tracks. In front of me was the most amazing photography I had ever seen. It was a family portrait done by Ken Whitmire. It was unlike anything else in the exhibit. It was stunning. It took my breath away-it was a family wall portrait. I remember thinking to myself, I want to meet this man-I want to photograph like this. That night at dinner I met Mr. Whitmire. He invited me to a week long school he directs called the Wall Portrait conference. That year, I attended the school and it changed my life. Mr Whitmire taught me to understand that a family portrait is not an 8×10. A family portrait is an heirloom. My wall portraits generally start at 20×24 size and are hung with pride in the homes of my clients. The portrait is more valuable than the furniture in your home, because the most important product of that home is the family represented in that portrait. When I photograph your family, I want you to think about where you will display your family portrait. I also predict that the more portrait work you have in your home, the more you will want. A well done portrait is a combination of nature, your surroundings and your family. It might include your family and your home, your pets, your horses, or your car collection. If you can imagine it, we can create it. I also carry a large selection of frames. My work is all custom, and I know you will love it!
