A Fox Creek High School senior is being considered for MTV’s show MADE.
Jordan Hysell was followed by a camera Dec. 4 through Thursday as part of the casting process for the show. Jordan was preparing for the Miss Fox Creek Pageant in January.
Jordan was also filmed as she and eight other senior girls participated in the pre-prom fashion show Thursday in the school’s cafeteria. One male student and three faculty members also participated in the fashion show.
The show featured the 2013 prom line from Edge Formals, including fashions by Mac Duggal, Nina Canacci, Party Time, Riva and Alyce.
It was the Edge Formals’ first prom fashion show of the season, said owner David Towles, who also emceed the event.
“We will be doing several shows in the area throughout the next few months,” he said.
The show was also used as a fundraiser for the upcoming pageant, which is sponsored by the school’s Parent Teacher Community Academy, said Donna Leopard, the organization’s teacher representative and the pageant’s director.
“We also wanted to start a senior tradition, something they can look forward to each year,” she said of the fashion show.
Despite TV cameras being on campus, students didn’t lose focus, said Principal Dr. Timothy Murph.
“It’s nice to have her,” he said of the woman shooting the fashion show. “It hasn’t been a disruption at all.”
If producers choose to feature Jordan in a future episode of MADE, a camera crew will return in January to capture additional footage of Jordan’s quest to become the next Miss Fox Creek, said Murph.
Regardless of the outcome, Jordan’s experience is an example to other students that there is “a world of opportunities” available to them, he said.
