Congratulations Lance and Melissa! This wonderful couple was married yesterday at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Georgia. The ceremony was so beautiful. There were approximately 350 guests, and the church was filled with family and friends who came to wish the couple a lifetime of happiness. Melissa’s bridal picture is in the Augusta Chronicle today. McLeroy – Walters Augusta, Ga. Miss Melissa Katherine Walters and Mr. Lance David McLeroy were united in marriage at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013 at The First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Ga. Reverend Dr. George W. Robertson and Reverend Dr. Robert Lehn, uncle of the bride, officiated. Miss Walters is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Alan Shipman Walters of Augusta, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie C. Hadwyn of Evans, Ga., and Dr. and Mrs. Gordon E. Walters of Augusta, Ga. She is an honors graduate of the Westminster Schools of Augusta, and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor in Business Administration in Accounting and Masters in Accountancy. Melissa is currently employed by EvoShield, LLC as a Senior Accountant. Mr. McLeroy is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Hulsey of Douglasville, Ga. and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth B.McLeroy of Carrollton, Ga. He is an honors graduate of Carrollton High School, and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor in Business Administration in Finance. Lance is currently a student at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose her sister Natalie Walters of Augusta, Ga., to serve as her maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mallory Walters of Augusta, Ga., sister of the bride, Lauren Beck of Augusta, Ga., cousin of the bride, Alisa Goldin of Bremen, Ga., sister of the groom, Leigh Ann Bramlett of Savannah, Ga., Mary Hester Hill of Atlanta, Ga., Kirsten McCrary, Samantha Osteen, both of Augusta, Ga., Haley Simmons, and Chelsea Smith, both of Athens, all friends of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Elyse Janes of Chattanooga, TN., cousin of the bride. The flower girl was Adeline Heindl of Severn, Md., cousin of the bride. The groom chose his father to serve as his best man. The groomsmen were Ryan Walters of Augusta, Ga., brother of the bride, Jared Smith of Atlanta, Ga., cousin of the groom, Anthony Lehn of Augusta, Ga., cousin of the bride, Peter Karempelis, Josh Hedrick, Xiao Li, Spencer Maddox, all of Athens, Ga., and Brett Dixon of Carrollton, Ga., all friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Garrett Goldin of Bremen, Ga., nephew of the groom. The wedding director was Angela Rogers. Photography was by Sally Kolar. The reader was Claire Tarpley. The program attendants were Ella Brucker, Palmer Brigham, Lauren Broadway, and Mary Catherine Rogers. The couple’s reception was held at the Old Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. They will honeymoon in the Dominican Republic and will reside in Athens, Ga.
