So I recently had a customer order pictures from a session that was taken a few years ago. Today as I was opening the image to check it out and retouch, I had a profound moment on why I love in studio portraiture. It is clean. I only look at the subject. I appreciate everything about the child, the beautiful dress, her big beautiful eyes, her smile, her big bow and her beautiful hair. As I circle around the child my eyes grab hold of her spirit, and her childlike mannerism as she crawls around my camera room. I am not distracted by one single other thing in the photo, it is beautiful. I love it.
